Baines' River Camp

On the banks of the mighty Zambezi.

About the Lodge

Baines' River Camp is named for Thomas Baines, the Victorian explorer and artist who documented the Zambezi on his famous 1858 expedition. Set on the banks of the Lower Zambezi in one of Africa's finest river ecosystems, the camp offers the unique combination of game drives in the national park, canoe safaris on the Zambezi, and tiger fishing — one of Africa's most prized freshwater challenges. Elephant herds regularly wade across the Zambezi in full view of the camp, and the river is teeming with hippo, crocodile and an extraordinary diversity of birds.
