About the Lodge
MalaMala is Africa's first and most established commercially operated private game reserve — a name synonymous with Big Five safari excellence since 1964. With 19km of Sand River frontage (more than any other private reserve) and 13,300 hectares bordering Kruger National Park, MalaMala offers unrivalled access to some of Africa's most iconic game viewing terrain. The reserve's guiding philosophy is rooted in years of accumulated knowledge of individual animal behaviour, passed down through generations of rangers who have watched the same leopards, lions, and elephants for decades.
